The#FilsFreeTechnique
Created in the summer of 2020, ‘La Fils* Free Technique’ is a technique that invites viewers let their imaginations dance with what they see or feel in resonance with the art work.
‘La Fils Free Technique’ (#filsfreetechnique) is an original work created using a modified embroidered paper technique.
Instead of following a design previously sketched on the medium, recycled threads from old batiks** are placed directly on the paper.
Called ‘Le jeu de fils’ (" The Game of Threads" ), this first phase begins with exploring the possibilities of shapes and arrangements of the threads, creating graphic and poetic compositions that resemble improvised choreographies.
The second phase, entitled ‘La Chasse aux points d'attaches’ (The Hunt for Attachment Points), consists of choosing the best points to attach the different parts of the composition together.
The dimensions of the works vary, ranging from:
• small : 20 cm x 20 cm / 7,87'' x 7,87''
• medium : 30 cm x 40 cm / 11,8'' x 15,7''
• big : 42.5 cm x 59.4 cm / 16,7'' x 23,3''
• large : 70 cm x 100 cm / 27,5'' x 39,3''
These #FilsFreeTechniques compositions are perfect as distinctive gifts or thoughtful acquisitions.
Collectors may gradually build a cohesive collection of contemporary textile art that values sustainability and the subtle joy of craft.
